The Role
We’re seeking a Senior Project Analyst – Finance to play a pivotal role in the implementation of TasTAFE’s new Student Management System (SMS). This senior position will provide high-level financial analysis, process mapping, system configuration advice, and business acumen to ensure the SMS aligns with TasTAFE’s finance requirements and broader strategic outcomes.
Working with significant autonomy, you will support stakeholder engagement, analyse current and future state processes, document financial workflows, assist with data cleansing and migration, contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide advice on system configuration. You may also supervise a small team to ensure key deliverables are supported.
This is a Fixed-term position to June 2027, located in the South.
On any given day, your responsibilities will include:
• Analyse finance processes and develop clear future-state workflows aligned to SMS requirements
• Build financial models, pricing structures, and fee metadata using advanced Excel skills
• Support data migration, cleansing, validation, and finance-related business rules
• Contribute to system configuration decisions, risk assessments, and UAT activities
• Prepare documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications
• Build strong relationships across teams and represent Finance in senior-level discussions
What You Will Bring
• Demonstrated finance expertise, including accrual accounting, financial modelling, and strong Excel expertise
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues
• Proven experience in business analysis or project environments
• Excellent organisation and self-management—able to meet deadlines and juggle competing priorities
• Highly developed communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
• Understanding of service delivery environments, ideally within public, education, or training sectors
Essential Requirements
• Financial or Business qualifications
• Membership with CPA Australia, CAANZ, or equivalent
Desirable
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience in vocational education and training environments
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
