The Role
We’re seeking a Finance Systems Project Officer to support multiple enterprise projects, including TasTAFE’s new Student Management System (SMS).
This role delivers finance system analysis, process mapping, integration support, testing, documentation, and data-related work to ensure our finance function is fully prepared for new and improved digital systems.
Working with significant autonomy, you’ll analyse current and future state processes, advise on system configuration, support UAT, maintain finance master data, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation. You may also supervise a small team during key project activities.
This is a Fixed-term role until July 2027, based in the South.
On any given day, your responsibilities will include:
• Lead finance-related system analysis
• Map current and future state processes and identify opportunities for workflow improvements
• Support system configuration, integration planning, and interface design between SMS, TechOne, and other finance systems
• Develop test plans and contribute to UAT execution
• Assist with data migration planning, cleansing, validation, and finance master data updates
• Produce clear documentation, reports, and communication materials
• Build strong relationships across TasTAFE and represent Finance in project forums
What You Will Bring
• Strong, hands-on TechOne experience
• Demonstrated expertise in ERP system implementation, finance system configuration and integration
• Ability to analyse complex finance processes and translate them into system requirements
• Strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver consistently
• Experience working across full software implementation life cycles
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, mentor others, and operate effectively in high-pressure environments
• Understanding of complex service delivery and IT environments, ideally within education or public sector
Desirable
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience in vocational education and training environments
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
