The Role

Ready to take your trade experience in a new direction? TasTAFE is looking for experienced Electrical and Instrumentation tradespeople who are keen to share their skills and support the next generation entering the industry.

Based at our Burnie campus, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of students, report writing and most importantly cultivating a positive learning environment.  

On any given day, your duties will include: 

  • Teaching and inspiring the next generation of tradespeople 
  • Managing and co-ordinating teaching & assessment materials & resources 
  • Providing advice and information to students and employers 
  • Enjoying eleven weeks of leave per year!  

 

What will you bring 

  • Electrical Trade Qualification, Instrumentation qualification and current Electrical Licence is essential 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or the ability to obtain your TAE*) 
  • Ability to turn complex concepts into practical, hands-on lessons  
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues and industry stakeholders. 

*TasTAFE understands many Electrical Tradespeople will not possess a Cert IV in Training & Assessment or the Work Skill Instructor Skill Set. We encourage you to submit your application and we will talk to you at interview regarding the relevant pathways to obtain these quals and how we can facilitate this for the successful candidate.
