The Role

Based at our State-of-the-Art Water and Energy Trades Centre of Excellence at our Clarence Campus, you’ll lead the VET delivery teams supporting high-quality training across plumbing trades and related built environment programs.

You’ll ensure learners receive a high-quality VET experience that reflects industry expectations and prepares them for employment. From planning programs and managing resources to supporting teachers and strengthening industry relationships, you’ll help shape plumbing and built environment training across Tasmania.

On any given day, you will lead planning, people, resources and quality improvement to ensure training delivery is responsive to learners, teachers and industry.

• Effectively manage team resources to hit targets and strategic outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with ASQA standards, promoting continuous improvement.
• Use learner, teacher and industry feedback to improve delivery, strengthen digital capability and support contemporary VET practice.
• Oversee workplans, competency records, and professional development for staff.
• Lead annual planning to meet learner and industry needs, aligning with TasTAFE’s strategic goals.

What will you bring

• Proven ability to lead people, manage resources and deliver outcomes in a complex, compliance-driven education or training environment.
• Strong VET knowledge and a commitment to quality, innovation and continuous improvement in training delivery.
• Strong understanding of plumbing and construction or related built environment industries, with the ability to stay current on workforce needs and emerging training priorities.
• Skilled in consultative decision-making to enhance VET practice and training services.
• Experience applying contemporary management practices that support performance, safety, wellbeing and a positive team culture.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
