The Role

We are seeking a VET Student Assistant to join our team at our Devonport campus on a permanent part-time basis. This role is dedicated to supporting students with intellectual and cognitive disabilities, ensuring they can fully participate in the Work Education program. You will work closely with Work Education teachers to provide tailored support and foster an inclusive learning environment.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 7 hours per day, Monday to Thursday (56 hours per fortnight).

The role is based at our Devonport Campus.

What you will bring

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of the needs of people with disabilities in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in an ethical and respectful manner.
  • A good level of literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.

Qualifications (desirable):

A qualification in Individual Support, Community Services, Youth Work, or School-Based Education Support.

A valid driver’s licence.

 

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
