The Role

Based at our one of our Campuses across the state, the Health and Safety Advisor will assist the Senior Manager of Health and Safety by delivering high-quality operational and administrative support. Your role will involve maintaining and enhancing WHS initiatives and management systems, using your integrity, initiative, and sound judgment.

On any given day, your duties will include:

  • Being the central WHS expert, guiding TasTAFE to compliance and safety excellence with your top-notch advice and support!
  • Forging relationships with stakeholders and being a WHS champion including Wellbeing, and Injury Management Systems across the board.
  • Craft and refine WHS policies and procedures, ensuring they’re always ahead of the legislative curve.
  • Lead engaging WHS training sessions, empowering TasTAFE employees to create a safer, smarter, and healthier workplace.
  • Take charge of WHS systems and records, making sure everything from risk registers to incident reports are spot-on and up to date.

What you bring:

  •  Good working knowledge of WHS laws and regulations. Proficiency in MS Office and WHS Management systems that showcase your tech-savviness and ability to navigate databases and records like a pro.
  • Experience in crafting effective WHS policies, procedures, training materials, and governing safety management systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills that enable you to engage, influence, and train stakeholders, making WHS compliance a breeze.
  • Your experience in conducting WHS audits, inspections, and investigations results in detailed reports and actionable safety recommendations.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
