The Role
As a Capability & Training Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting TasTAFE’s transition to a new Student Management System (SMS). Working within the SMS Project team, you will design, develop and deliver training that ensures staff are confident and capable in using the new system and aligned future-state processes.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Optimisation and Change Management streams to ensure capability uplift supports readiness, adoption and long-term success.
On any given day, you will:
• Develop and deliver a comprehensive training and capability plan aligned to SMS implementation
• Translate system functionality and business processes into practical, role-based learning
• Design and deliver engaging training across face-to-face, virtual and online formats
• Create learning resources that support ongoing capability and system adoption
• Work closely with stakeholders, SMEs and project teams to align training with change activities
• Monitor training effectiveness, identify capability gaps and provide insights to support go-live readiness
What you bring:
• Experience designing and delivering system or application training within transformation or implementation projects
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and capability development
• Proven ability to deliver role-based, scenario-driven training across multiple formats
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working alongside change or project teams
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic project environment
This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity through to 30 June 2027, with a statewide focus. We are currently seeking to fill two vacancies for this role.
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
