The Role

Based at our Alanvale Campus in Launceston, this Technical Employee role helps keep our training spaces, equipment and resources ready for students and teachers. You will provide practical support, maintain safe learning areas, and help students build the skills they need for the horticulture industry.

This is a part-time role, working approximately 58.8 hours per fortnight Monday to Thursday.

On any given day, you will:

  • Prepare learning materials and set up equipment, displays and other teaching resources.
  • Work with suppliers, prepare cost estimates and provide practical advice based on your industry experience.
  • Help create and maintain digital and online learning resources.
  • Order, install, maintain, and repair a wide range of equipment.
  • Share your technical knowledge with staff and students.

What you bring:

  • Hands-on horticulture experience and the confidence to share your skills with others.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Expertise in digital learning resource development and online content.
  • Experience buying supplies and keeping track of equipment and materials.
  • The ability to support and supervise students in practical learning environments.

Essential Requirements

  • A Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, or equivalent qualification.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
