TasTAFE aspires to be a place of innovation, creating new ways of training, finding solutions, delivering differently, and increasing access for all.
The Role We’re on the lookout for a passionate teacher to join our dynamic team and help grow the next generation of landscape professionals.
This full-time role based at our Alanvale campus, is perfect for someone who loves getting their hands dirty and inspiring minds, by bringing real-life relevant landscape experience into the classroom. You’ll blend practical, on-site learning and assessment with campus-based teaching to create vibrant, hands-on experiences that stick. Think of it as cultivating passion, curiosity and a feeling of self-worth, one student at a time.
What your day might look like:
· Designing flexible, engaging training programs that meet learners’ expectations for where they are in their training journey.
· Coordinating resources and equipment to keep things relevant.
· Ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
· Staying fresh with industry trends through ongoing professional development and industry networking.
· Supporting learners both on campus and out in the workplace.
What you bring to the role:
· A creative and caring approach to teaching and assessment.
· Strong foundations and industry experience in landscape construction.
· An aspirational mentoring mindset and collaborative spirit.
· Adaptability, curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
· Great communication skills that connect with learners, employers, and Industry partners.
· Extensive knowledge in plant culture and landscape construction techniques
· Drivers licence
You’ll also need a trade certificate or above in landscape construction and a current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or be ready to get one before you start).
At TasTAFE, we believe in nurturing talent, yours included. Whether you’re a seasoned educator or just starting to explore the teaching path, we want to hear from you. If you don’t yet hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, we offer alternative pathways and support to help you get qualified while you work.
