About Us

As Tasmania’s publicly owned training provider, TasTAFE is a vital contributor to the prosperity of the state’s economy through supporting jobs and employment and the economic resilience of our businesses and industry. With a focus on practical, real-life learning, we work hard to ensure the training our learners receive is industry relevant and we provide real industry skills that are highly valued by employers.

The Role

The Human Resources Business Partner plays a critical role in partnering with leaders and teams across TasTAFE to deliver practical, strategic and people-centred HR support. Working across a broad portfolio, you will provide trusted advice on employee relations, workforce planning, performance, leadership coaching, policy and complex case management, while also helping leaders navigate organisational change with confidence.

What you bring

  • Significant experience in contemporary human resource management, with the ability to provide credible operational and strategic advice across a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated capability to support organisational change and transformation, including change management, stakeholder engagement, consultation and leadership support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, awards and agreements, identify options and provide sound recommendations.
  • Highly developed communication, coaching and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence, negotiate and work through complex people matters.
  • Experience in policy development, establishment management, job design or related HR projects will be highly regarded.
  • Resilience, adaptability and sound judgement, with the ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity, competing priorities and ongoing change.

We are recruiting to fill two roles (1 permanent full-time and 1 permanent part-time) with flexibility in location across our campuses.

TasTAFE prioritises Tasmania’s Child and Youth Safe Standards and the Universal Principle for Aboriginal Cultural Safety in its recruitment process, ensuring the safety and cultural well-being of children, youth, and Aboriginal individuals.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Supporting a Diverse Workforce

At TasTAFE, we encourage applications from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, people living with a disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mature age workers and members of the LGBTIQ+ community.

We are a diverse and inclusive workplace and understand the importance of flexibility. We want our workforce to reflect the diversity in our community and we are committed to building a culture we are all proud of. Ask us how we can make this role flexible to suit you.
