The Role
As Senior Manager Student Services, you'll lead a dedicated team that delivers essential support services across our campuses, including counselling, Aboriginal liaison, disability support, career advice, and library services.
Reporting to the Executive Director Quality and Academic Services, you’ll guide the design and implementation of inclusive, contemporary student support models, ensure alignment with legislation and best practice and help shape TasTAFE's strategic direction through membership on key internal committees.

This ongoing, full-time leadership role can be based at any TasTAFE campus statewide.
On any given day, your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the development and implementation of student wellbeing strategies and services
• Drive policy, procedure, and service delivery improvements across student services
• Support the delivery of inclusive library services and student learning resources
• Provide expert advice to the Executive on student needs and emerging trends
• Manage internal and external partnerships that contribute to student success
• Contribute to state-wide initiatives such as Closing the Gap and Disability Action Plans
• Lead your team with empathy, vision, and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Oversee budgets, resources, and work health and safety within your area
What You’ll Bring
• Strong experience leading strategic and operational projects in education or human services
• A forward-thinking approach to student support—driven by data and grounded in equity
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people with disability
• High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence, collaborate and build trust
• Demonstrated expertise in policy development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
• A track record of leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams in complex environment
Desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in education, leadership or business
• Experience in post-Year 10 or vocational education environments
• Senior leadership experience in a large and complex organisation
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
