The Role
Do you have cravings to show learners what it takes to be on the line? Working from our Devonport campus, you will be one of our Cookery Teachers, showcasing the skills and expertise of cookery. From cutting techniques and doneness to plating, you will be the embodiment of cooking, expanding your learners imagination, ability, and taking their skills from mild to hot in seconds. If you want to show the next generation how its done, then get the gas on, and get ready to cook up a storm.
What you will do:
• Craft lesson plans that cover various cooking techniques, recipes, and kitchen safety
• Conduct live demonstrations on preparing basic to advanced recipes
• Evaluate learner skills through practical assessment to ensure competency
• Ensure compliance of classroom and kitchen health and safety, including safe good handling practices
• Provide guidance and feedback to enhance and exceed our learners skills
What will you bring
• Experience and knowledge in various cooking techniques, cuisines, and kitchen management
• A passion for food and creativity in the kitchen, inspiring learners to experiment and develop their culinary styles
• Effective communication, organisation, and ability to guide learners in the industry
• Fluent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
