The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised International Admissions and Compliance Officer to join our dynamic International Team.

This role is critical to the smooth processing of international student applications, communication with agents and partners, and ensuring TasTAFE’s compliance with regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Manager International Business Development, you will support the International Admissions and Compliance Lead in assessing applications, following up documentation, updating student records, and contributing to a positive and compliant international student experience.

This position offers the flexibility to be based in either Hobart or Launceston

This is a full-time, fixed-term position from 20 July 2025 to 20 May 2027.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assess international student applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up outstanding documentation (e.g. English language verification, visa status).
  • Liaise with agents, education providers, and internal teams to meet admission conditions.
  • Support compliance activities aligned with the National Code 2018.
  • Manage financial tracking processes and assist with updates to the Student Management System (EBS).
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of student records, documentation, and communication logs.
  • Provide responsive support to internal teams and external stakeholders across the international student lifecycle.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience in international student admissions and compliance processes.
  • Accuracy and efficiency in administrative and data management tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across cultures and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working with student management systems (e.g., EBS, Ascent One) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the VET sector or Tasmanian international education landscape.
  • Fluent in an additional language other than English.
  • A passion for international education and cross-cultural engagement.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
