Fixed term, working up to 76 hours per fortnight until July 2023
Undertake literacy and numeracy teaching and assessment duties in a variety of contexts within Risdon Prison and in line with relevant standards and compliance requirements. The occupant is required to regularly monitor and evaluate practice to maintain a focus on continuous improvement. The occupant will be required to teach in each level of security from minimum to maximum, in both women's and men's facilities. You will work collaboratively with a small group of teachers and other adult education stakeholders who are based at the prison, to navigate the Tasmanian Prison Service system and provide high quality foundation skills education to inmates.
An existing TasTAFE employee employed under a copied state instrument, or an employee who has been employed at TasTAFE in the past three months, if successful, would be appointed at the relevant classification and salary in the copied state instrument.

Evidence of meeting the following essential requirements for the role will need to be provided with your application and/or prior to starting.
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor.
OR
TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
AND one of the following:
1. TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor, or
2. TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
AND one of the following:
1. TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor, or
2. TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools, or
3. TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.
OR
A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.
OR
The equivalent of the above – refer to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
