The Role

The Information and Reporting Manager will work with the TasTAFE Digital Services team to provide high-level leadership and direction for information management & reporting operations, including:

  • Managing the creation and maintenance of information management policies and procedures;
  • Lead cyber security risk assessments;
  • Develop cyber security awareness training programs, advise, and collaborate on development of business continuity and recovery plans, audit, and governmental compliance practices; and
  • Manage compliance and ad-hoc reporting obligations and grow TasTAFE’s reporting and data analytics capability.

This is a leadership role and established decision-making and operational frameworks may require considerable interpretation and initiative to provide effective program and service delivery outcomes.

The occupant operates with a high degree of autonomy in the achievement of specified goals, with broad direction received from the supervisor.

Hours per fortnight 76 hours.

An existing TasTAFE employee employed under a copied state instrument, or an employee who has been employed at TasTAFE in the past three months, if successful, would be appointed at the relevant classification and salary in the copied state instrument.

Location

The location of this role is to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

This is a state-wide role with intrastate travel required.

About You

You will have an appreciation of the value of information to an organisation like TasTAFE and understand the importance of robust information governance.  Your experience in managing a small team to make best use of data in a large organisation will help TasTAFE mature in this area. 

These are the capabilities required to undertake the role successfully:

  • Extensive high-level experience establishing and implementing information governance policies, practices, and methodologies appropriate to TasTAFE’s requirements and recognised standards.
  • Extensive experience in risk assessment processes and in identifying and implementing mitigation strategies in relation to the protection of information and IT assets.
  • Excellent strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills, and the ability to develop and make sound judgements relating to the protection and appropriate use of TasTAFE’s business information.
  • High level interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level management and leadership skills with the ability to be adaptable and flexible to achieve results in a changing environment.
  • High level knowledge of enterprise data storage, analytics and presentation solutions.
  • To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate in your resume and short (maximum two-page) statement how you meet the capabilities of the role.

    Essential Requirements

    • Current Registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania.
    • Up to date with vaccination against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption

    Desirable Requirements

    • A relevant tertiary qualification
    • Experience in vocational and education training environments
