The Role

The Apprentice Portfolio Coordinator provides specialist case management support to apprentices and their employers, ensuring a positive and successful apprenticeship journey.

You’ll work within a dedicated education team to manage a caseload of apprentices and employers, facilitating communication between learners, employers, teachers, and support providers. With a strong focus on student experience, progression and industry relationships, you’ll play a key role in supporting both completion outcomes and TasTAFE’s compliance requirements.

This role is full-time (73.5 hours per fortnight), fixed term from October 2025 (flexible start) until December 2026, and based at our Alanvale Campus.

On any given day, your duties will include:

  • Managing relationships with apprentices, trainees, employers and training providers to ensure positive experiences and outcomes.
  • Coordinating training, scheduling, progress reporting and worksite visits.
  • Working closely with teaching teams and industry stakeholders to support student retention and completions.
  • Providing tailored advice, negotiating outcomes, and influencing positive solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Experience building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Case management skills with the ability to provide tailored advice and support.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to change, contribute to continuous improvement and support high performance.
  • Experience interpreting and reporting on complex information to provide solution-focused recommendations.

Desirable

Knowledge of VET or Australian Apprenticeship systems

Automotive or trade industry experience


A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
